For the best summary of the Manx response to the LDS mission to the Isle Of Man you need to
view:

But also read my review of Frances Coakley's article:
http://www.manxmormons.com/review.htm
For a detailed study of a typical emigration http://myancestry.org/emigration/shelley.htm gives an excellent account of an English family's experience on the "Ellen Maria". This boat left Liverpool on 1 February 1851. No Manx emigrants are on the ship's manifest but according to family accounts nine members of the Comish family sailed on this boat - there is no record of them on any other ship's manifest. The account continues with the rest of the emigration journey to Utah.
Several web pages give information on Manx Converts:http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/mormon - More from Frances Coakley's massive web site. This is an important site providing information on 20 individuals or families who joined the LDS church and emigrated and also giving links to related Manx history pages.
